This weekend, I went to a knitters, spinners and weavers fair called
Fibre East -

and, apart from the MUD, it was really a good day out. I could have
wandered around the marquees all day, just soaking up the colours and
stroking the various grades of fluff <G>.

But what I wanted to pass on was that there are wood turners in this
field as well, making things they call tapestry bobbins; it strikes me
that these would be useful if we wanted to make, say, lace shawls or
scarves out of thicker yarn. One of the stalls was called IST Crafts
- http://thewoodemporium.co.uk - he uses some beautiful woods.

There are bound to be other makers, but this is the one whose card I
brought home.

You probably all know this stuff already, but for me it was one of
those ah-hah! moments <G>.
