It's alliteration - each word starting with the same sound; sound being the important bit. Doesn't matter whether it starts with the same letter when written - (w)riting) - or if part of the word is removed - (a)rithmetic - to make the intended same sound. It makes the group of words more memorable. Often used in film and book titles, newspaper headlines or poetry to name just a few.
