I was in Honiton a year or so back, spent a weekend there. I thought I wrote a posting to Arachne, but maybe not. The lace shop was definitely closed, very little traces of it. The museum was open, just winding down for the season at the time, and well worth a visit. Lots to buy in the shop! It's a lovely little town to spend time wandering around - lots of nice cafes (but surprisingly little in the way of accommodation), lace and other murals on exterior walls and very pretty countryside.
