I had the wonderful experience of taking a class in Hinojosa Lace from Marina
Regueiro at Ithaca Lace Days this past weekend.  Not only was she a good
teacher, but she was also a wonderful storyteller.  It makes the lace come
alive
when you know its stories and history.

It occurred to me that I'm
actually not all that good at making lace.  I tend to
dabble...do a small
piece of this type and another piece of that type.  I really
don't have a
mastery of any one type.

I very much enjoyed the class and I like making tape
laces...portable and
the smaller number of bobbins are easier to manage.  I
have decided to spend the
next year learning Hinojosa, working with it,
concentrating on only this type so
I can say that there is at least one type
of lace that I'm good at.

No more dabbling...at least for the time being.
