Dear Janice, Thank you for sharing this very clever way of displaying lace. I love love love it! To everyone considering this or other options of displaying lace under plastic or glass: There is a precaution you must take if you trust a piece of lace to being a mug insert. If you choose to use the mug for its intended purpose, make sure it is never lowered into a dishpan of soapy water or placed in a dish washer. Carefully wash the inside with a cloth or sponge, and wipe the outside with a barely damp cloth. Barely damp is important. This is an opportunity to share with our younger members that if you wet-clean glass over a framed piece of lace, you should dampen a cloth to do so. Never directly spray with glass cleaners, because moisture can migrate to areas under the glass. You might not notice problems until later, when the lace shows signs of stains from the mounting material or the frame itself. Jeri Ames in Maine USA Lace and Embroidery Resource Center

Mine has a piece of Brugge lace that I did in a class many years ago. - To unsubscribe send email to [email protected] containing the line: unsubscribe lace [email protected].
