Yes, that is the sort of thing I was trying to do, but with needlelace. There is one in Needle Lace Techniques and Inspiration by Jill NOrdfors Clark on page 47 made by Nancy Evans, but there are no instructions. I know there are instructions online for ones done with wire on eggshells, I just wanted to try with thread, and not on something I might crush.
