Linen tends to soften with washing but, on the other hand, from my limited experience with similar types of tape laces, it is tension and method of work that results in a stiff, crisp lace so I am not sure whether these will soften. I have not yet had to wash any of the tape lace pieces I have kept for myself. Karen in Malta
