Thanks, David! That was very interesting. Has anyone ever heard of Aloe fiber use before? That is what they were using for the tenerife-like lace from Hvar. It looked like they pulled it from the stalk, rather like when stringing celery...(??) I wonder what, if any, processing takes place before it is used as thread? Does anyone know?
