And don't forget the Lace School or actually the museum next door which is
also not far from the main square.
When I was there with a couple of male friends, I left them at the square
and went off on my own. When I came back they were laughing and pointed out
to me a lady in full Muslim dress standing by herself. They told me that
she and a companion had been walking across when a bus came by and almost
hit them. The man took her by the shoulders and stood her at the spot where
she was, obviously with an admonition to 'stay there and don't move'. He
went over to the bus and got on and began berating the driver. After some
minutes the driver looked at his watch, put the bus in gear and drove off
with the man still on it. When we left the lady was still standing where
she had been put. You might want to look and see if she is still there -
perhaps turned to a pillar of salt.
Malvary in Ottawa where it is +4c and the snow is melting fast, but we have
a forecast of another storm about to hit us tomorrow for 2 days.
