When I have been struggling with something in lace the people on arachne
have been wonderful, mostly. But not all of the answers come through the
main group, occasional answers, or snippets of information have come through
directly to me. Some from very prominent members of Arachne and other times
from very quiet people who probably dont teach but have that vital piece of
helpful advice which has been really appreciated. I think many others have
been helped in a similar way and on occasion have been able to do our bit in
helping someone else.
Myself and another arachnid guided and helped find ways to describe how to
work a certain pattern to a new lady attempting to make lace with no access
to a teacher and working from books. To our amazement it worked and she
continued to work for a couple of years until patchwork took her away from
lace for now.
So not all would be lurkers are actually taking only, many are giving where
they can but very quietly in the background.
Not everyone in life is able to pass on their knowledge or even continue
with this wonderful craft all the time but reading the mail from the group
is enjoyable mostly anyway.
So to all the arachnids where ever you are I am proud to be of their number.

When there are probably less than 50 regular contributors to Arachne, and
we know that there are another 1,000 or so who are lurking, does that
matter to you?
Do we have a lot of knowledgeable people out there who are takers, instead
of sharers? And do they even care to realize how frustrating that is for
some of us to contemplate?
