All, Jane has hit the nail on the head. I comment rarely, but that does not mean I have learned nothing! I have even gained some friends from England to Australia to Virginia, Florida & some in between. If Arachne weren't there, I would never have met them. Just because we don't post as often as those few who do, does NOT mean we are not learning from each of you. The Golden Rule, regardless of faith is the standard that should be followed & encouragement to those who are struggling in silence can be passed on in encouraging posts about lace. I have personally gained considerable insight into lace origins from the posts and have especially enjoyed the history of bobbins from Brian. Alex and Jeri have given me good advise and Janet is a God-send. Without criticizing my work when I first met her, she said "you make spiders differently than we do!" Rather than saying you did it wrong or that looks terrible (like one lacer told me) she showed me how she learned. Loe and behold, when she did it you could actually see the legs of the spider!! Now I can make spiders that really look like spiders! So, bottom line, please be patient with us & lace will survive for generations to come. That said, I am probably the "ruler" of impatience.
