Dear Arachne Members Thank You for your interest in this award which does indeed put lacemaking on a 'new for us' centre stage.
As you may have gathered Angela Brown is the Chair of The Lace Society, UK; a society which has been growing during the last few years with her friendly and charismatic leadership. She firmly believes in the traditional craft of lacemaking and is equally passionate about its development for the present generation. Today, Tuesday, Angela is demonstrating her bobbin lace at the Ideal Homes Exhibition at the stand of The Prince of Wales' Trust, so as someone who has been very much encouraged by her I send you these links. The following links will help now that they have been better updated. http://www.heritagecrafts.org.uk/index.php/news/news Also by this page http://www.heritagecrafts.org.uk/index.php/directory/directory And selecting Lace as the craft to search by. https://twitter.com/heritage_crafts first picture on left, Angela is in the background in red. Some of Angela's exquisite work can be seen on her website but as you can imagine there has not been quite enough time to keep this completely up to date. Her husband assures us that this is a 'job to do'! Angela did the research into Regency lace published by me in 2010 & 2012 http://www.briarlace.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ With every good wish to all lacemakers Jean - To unsubscribe send email to [email protected] containing the line: unsubscribe lace [email protected].
