These two threads may cross... I remember hearing that sol/Teneriffe crossed the Atlantic to South America by ship, the makers being ships' sailmakers and Hi Leonard That is how I understand it. There is an excellent account of the history of Teneriffe lace in - Hispanic lace and lacemaking by F.L .May, Hispanic Society of America 1939 and other historical information in my book came from a friend who had studied history.
