Good luck Darlene. I learnt tatting from a book and you will need to have patience. The trick is that you make the stitch with one thread, the other being under tension, then you relax the tension (very important to do it NOW) before taking up the tension on the other thread so that you end up with thread that initially held the tension now making the knot.
