Dear Friends,
In 2 hours' time when the taxi comes to pick me up at 4:00A.M. I'll
be leaving for 5 weeks in Saigon.
This time I am going to go and visit the town of Bao Loc which I've
now discovered is the main centre for the production of silk in
Vietnam. Let's hope they will sell me some fine yarn and not just try
to get me to buy fabric.
I have a new wi-fi iPad so hopefully (???) it should be easier to
keep in touch right from my hotel room.
Just as a side-line I will also be giving a few performances on the
piano at the Blue River Hotel. This is opposite where I am staying
but I promised them last year that I would bring them a pile of
music, which I am doing. Gives me heaps of extra weight to bring
stuff home (as if I need that).
