Hello Jenny and everyone

This double-drive style of wheel uses the principle of being able to lean
the mother-of-all part away from or towards the wheel to tension the drive
band. I have a wheel of this style, delightful for spinning yarns fine
enough for *lace.*

I wonder if the assembly has been 'made stuck' by a lot of varnish after
the fact. To make the wheel into a decoration?
Possibly some of the hardware has been used to fasten parts of it in place,
so that it won't move back and forth, now that the drive band isn't there
to hold it upright.

If you like send me a photo of underneath the m-o-a and we can sort
something out off list.
