Over here in Australia, a lacemaker was awarded an Order of Australia in the
Birthday Honours - Petronella Wensing who lives in Canberra.

She has some lace on (?)permanent show in the national museum.

I had the privilege of going to a 2 day workshop she gave here in Melbourne
about 5 years ago - I did the chrysanthemum lace section of the class,
while the other half of the class did s'Gravensmoer. It was a most
enjoyable weekend, and she is a great teacher.

It is so rewarding to see Lacemaker honoured, and recognised. "Only some
lace" is not the way we see it, and it is nice to know some others in
authority have been "educated' to realize it is not "Only" lace!!!

Regards from Liz in cold, wintery, Melbourne, Oz.
