Dear Friends, One of the blokes I fought with in Vietnam back in 1970 has just posted the following on facebook and made me proud to call him a friend:-
My mate David Collyer (see my ANZAC Day post) as well as being a hugely talented bloke is also an amazing lacemaker, following a tradition in the male line of his family. This is his latest work-in-progress that I thought I'd share with my FB friends. I haven't counted the bobbins in use but it's mind-boggling how Dave keeps track of what he's doing. Good on you Dave - looking forward to seeing the finished piece. I am now 3/4 way through a lovely Art Nouveau style edging of Chantilly Lace from Ulrike Voelker's "Schwartzarbeit Band 2" - about a month to go.
