I like Ruth's discovery. I think the contrast placement not only gives a pleasing background colour, but the extra layer is less harsh than if using a buff-coloured paper to begin with.
It is good to have a choice, that we aren't limited to whatever background colour for the pricking! I love the colour orange on objects, love it for threads in lace projects, but not the colour behind my lace work in progress. ugh! I might like that better admittedly if I was in the natural light of Spain...?
