Wolds Lacemakers are due to hold their lace day on the 28th September 2013 at Cottingham Road Baptist Church Chanterlands Avenue Hull UK HU5 4AY from 10m to 4pm. The tickets are £3.50 each and this includes a door prize, so anyone attending should keep their entrance ticket. The Speaker, who will speak in the afternoon, is Jacque Tinche on Hinojosa Lace (a Spanish lace) and there will be suppliers in attendance. There is on street parking nearby and there are facilities for the disabled. This is a traditional lace day so anyone attending can bring a lace pillow so that they can work on their lace. It is also nice to see what other lacemakers are working on. Everyone is advised to bring a packed lunch as the sandwich shops are a 15 minutes or so walking distance away. Tea and coffee will be available at the hall. And cakes will be available with the afternoon tea. For anyone who has never tried bobbin lacemaking, there will be a practice pillow available in the morning so they can have a go if they want.
