Hi out there in LacingLand.  Well I have been painting again Lace bobbins. I
use to paint lace bobbins years ago under Celtic Dream Weaver. They were all
pretty much in Celtic Art in theme. I happend to love Halloween. Maybe some of
my fellow lacemakers know this already about me. So recently I took out a
continental bobbin I painted years ago for a Russian Lace Class I was in
..teacher was Holly Van Sciver ( she is a great teacher by the way...love her
sense of humor). So I took that same bobbin design and painted a Midland and a
Square bobbin. Then while I was at it I painted a few more of them and I have
a couple listed on ebay. I thought maybe there is someone else out there that
loves Halloweenie too. I don't see any bobbins with Halloween designs in
Lacingland.
I use the square bobbins when I do Milanese lace like Louise
Colgan does...and I use my Midlands for my Bucks lace and my Bedfordshire
lace. I haven't used my continental bobbins in while that I painted cartoons
on from my younger days. There is a picture of those bobbin on my website
address in my signature.
I at the moment has a doosing of a cold. And I
feel miserable but am kinda glad I have it now. I will be going to Ithaca, New
York and staying there for a couple of evenings. I am taking a class with Mary
Shields...Carrickmacross Lace. I took her class about 10 years ago ( hard to
believe it was that long ago) but ended up getting a dreadful cold right after
the banquet so I was miserable the whole weekend and if it wasn't for the face
I had already paid for the class I would have went home and kicked up my heels
and pointed my toes heavenward and died  I was that sick.  So since I am sick
with the dreaded Fall cold now maybe it will be gone by the time Ithaca Lace
weekend comes around and I will be in better health and enjoy my class with
Mary more. Anyhow...I am excited. Is there anybody else on here going to go to
Ithaca Lace Weekend. It is about one and half weeks away now...excited....to
be sure.
