Hi Nancy,
Of course I wouldn't publish them. They are for my own interest and
education. Personal use and education without profit is an entirely
different situation.
The item descriptions are copied just for the language so I can improve my
lace vocabulary. There is always so much more to learn about lace and living
so far distant from the large museum collections the internet is my friend.
Sorry if I gave the wrong impression.

Annette, Wollongong Australia where we are promised rain but nothing so far
and we desperately need a shower!

Annette,

Please be aware that, in the US at least, images taken by someone else, even
if they are published on-line, are under copyright protection unless
permission to download is explicitly stated on the website. The ebay
sellers who restrict download are protecting their copyright, which they
have every right to do. Downloading without permission is in violation of
US copyright law which has international force, although many people do it
and are not in the usual course of things going to be prosecuted. Just be
careful distributing the photos, for example to your museum, because
publishing them without the copyright-holder's permission, even
inadvertently, does stand a higher likelihood of prosecution and you
wouldn't want to get your museum in trouble.

Just FYI.
