Hello All! There are some new photos posted to Flickr/Photostream.
Unfortunately, only one appears in my set & I have no clue where the others
have landed. Please forgive if I've unintentionally goofed up another
set--yours! The dragon photo (Buratto) is noteworthy because the stitches are
worked vertically. Other than the dragon, the piece most interesting to me was
the Buratto meander with embroidered edge on plain weave linen. Not sure,
perhaps four-sided stitch or something similar? All the examples are in
gallery 117. The Saturday workshop at Cleveland Museum included a
bibliography, darning stitch & linen stitch exercises, 2 kinds of net ground (2
sizes of knotted type), various threads & some patterns charted from the CMA
collection. Many of the listed books were on display along with vintage &
modern samples so I gathered some ideas for independent study. Sincerely,
Susan Hottle, Erie, PA USA
