For Americans who order books from Holly Van Sciver: This Alex Stillwell
book is listed under book category 14 at:

http://www.vansciverbobbinlace.com

However, the title of the book on Holly's site has been typed as "Salex
Illustrated History...." I ordered it in 2011 and it turned out to be a
duplicate of an earlier edition of the "Dictionary", and it says "Dictionary"
on the photograph of the Salex book.. I told Holly about the typing error
at the 2011 IOLI Bethesda convention.

Telling you so you can think about whether you want the newer edition, if
you already have the old Cassell Publishers one. There are a few updates
in the newer Salex Publishers one, but if your book budget is limited -- you
need to know.

Pouring rain here, landing on layers of snow that have blanketed one inch
of ice we experienced Dec. 21st. Extremely dangerous driving today.
Schools closed, and power outages. Though 47F now, not much melting. Temps
will drop below freezing again tonight and going forward, so driveway will be
like a skating rink. Landscape for the past two weeks has been
breathtakingly beautiful. Tree branches have had a thick coating of ice,
freshened by
regular snow falls. On sunny days with blue skies, everything has
sparkled like crystal, with numerous flashes of twinkling diamonds.
Heavenly.
