Dear friends

I too have received an email from Claire Brown Textile Specialist at Bonhams,
about the forthcoming sale of lace effects belonging to the late Susan Cox.
She has confirmed my belief that non of the items in the collection have any
connection with the Dr Spriggs collection. It was my understanding that they
were on perrmanent loan to The English Lace School and do know that when the
school closed they were then house at Rougemont House , Exeter and have been
advised that the collection is now at Allhallows Museum, Devon. (see below).

      Dear Catherine,
Please excuse this out-of-the-blue message. I came across a post from
you on an online lace forum, regarding the next Bonhams Textiles sale on
January 21st and the speculation that some of the lots may have belonged to
the late Susan Cox. I am now able to confirm that five lots did belong to her
- lots 315, 324, 325, 327 and 338 and I am about to add the provenance to our
online catalogue. But I do not believe there is any connection between the
items we are selling and the Dr Spriggs collection.
I hope this clarifies the situation and feel free to confirm this
information on the online forum, as I do not have access to comment on it.
The Bonhams sale is available to view online here:
http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/21727 and the Textiles are lots 303 to 417.
Best wishes, Claire Browne, Bonhams Textiles Specialist
