Noelene Translating Russian lace text to English certainly does produce hilarious results. You can see how the problem arises. The dictionary gives 2 or 3 words that might match the particular lace word in the Russian text. But the translator, or translator software, has no idea which word is closest, and picks the wrong one. Then the same process happens with the next weird lace word. The translator is thinking about machine weaving part of the time - jacquard loom - and the mistakes just proliferate.
When I'm dealing with a google translation I always think "make a picture of what they are trying to say, and pick a better word". What must the original text be trying to say. Languages don't translate word by word. Lorelei - To unsubscribe send email to [email protected] containing the line: unsubscribe lace [email protected]. For help, write to [email protected].
