Hello All!  There is also a pattern that looks like a lace ball in "Mailander 
Spitze auf neuen Wegen" pg 154-157.  By Dr. Ann Wild & called Mailander Kugel, 
it is made flat in several sections.  Since I don't understand German, I'm not 
sure how to attach the pieces to each other but perhaps someone else on the 
list knows.  It's quite lovely & would save the effort of making the special 
pillow.  Thank you Sandi for your Milanese design tutorial.  Perhaps if I let 
the shape speak to me, it will tell me what it wants to do.  This is a gift & 
one that I have not yet developed in lace.  Surface embroidery, beading & 
needlepoint ideas bite me on the nose.  Lace not so much.  I can hardly wait
