Dear Sues and Bev, plus all,

Just saw the Arachne photo this morning at Lacemakers of Maine meeting - 6
members present, one of whom attended the convention. Maine's Barbara
Simon is standing in the middle of the back row. Sue Babbs; Barbara's hair
and blouse blend into the background, and there is an open door behind her.
Barbara brought to our meeting her show-and-tells of lace in progress,
table favors and gifts, new supplies (tools, bobbins, threads and some old
pieces of lace) and books for us to enjoy. One book is not in my library!
(Get out the checkbook, Jeri...)

Devon is on the far left, front row, and serves IOLI as Historian.

Jean Leader of Glasgow, who was teaching at the Sacramento convention, is
at the top right, back row. Jean Leader was nominated to be Vice President
of IOLI. Election was held at convention, so probably official now.

Janice, sorry about the traffic in California. If you retired here, and
were a member of Lacemakers of Maine, you would get to preview a lot of
books, which helps one to decide what she needs. Traffic jams in Maine move,
very little litter is seen, and the scenery is green the hour each way that
I drive to Tess's. We are more worried about night driving and hitting a
moose!

A bit difficult to recognize others in photo, but so nice to see so many
happy faces.

It's so nice to see so many Arachne members in one place, as I live in
Norfolk UK we don't have many Arachne members in the area, I know of only one
and she happens to be a friend from Norfolk Lacemakers. We do not even
have as many lace days as we used to because many of the suppliers will not
attend as they can make as much money selling online with much less hassle of
doing a lace day.
