Hello All! I'm posting this to Arachne--please scroll down if you are not interested. This pattern is a hoot! I've managed to get started & move along to the beginning of the left leg. Attention All Confident Beginners--if you did not sign up to try this pricking, you are missing a fun & eye opening experience! By following the thread paths drawn on the pattern, it is very straight forward. The eye opening part is where passives switch out to become weavers while the "real" weaver waits at another pin. Very untraditional & the only comparison I can make (in my limited experience) is where the weaver does some fancy footwork in a scroll. The overachievers who scampered ahead & have finished the salamander have been generous enough to post their observations to help those of us who are bringing up the rear. The other thing I would like to mention--the removal of this thread from Arachne has prevented this info from being searchable in our Archives. That may prove to ! be unfortunate over time. I would also point out that many of us will never meet Miss Chandler's mat, yet that discussion went on for weeks if not months. With that in mind, & with all apologies to the uninterested or those on dial-up, we should beware what we wish for. It's not too late to get a copy if you'd like to try the salamander & see what I mean.
