Ruskin lace is a form of embroidery in the broader class "drawn thread work",
or double drawn thread work.  Some threads are removed in geometric patterns,
the cut edges are stabilized, and then needle lace stitches are done in the
empty spaces, usually buttonholed bars, wrapped bars and some leaf shapes in
buttonhole stitch.  Casalguidi adds raised bits, usually in the form of thick
