Thank you Janice! I appreciate your advice on constructing some sort of over-sized roller/bolster pillow. There are definitely a lot of logistical considerations for this piece. Bev also mentioned tensioning issues because of the silk slubs & offered some advice for a practice strip. West Marine is only a few minutes away so I thought I would check there for a large ethafoam cylinder. My DH has some sort of foam "bumpers" for his boat to protect it when docking so I will look into that option. Many thanks to all who wrote with help & advice!
