Just to remind everyone on Arachne that Bridget Cook has had her comprehensive Idrija book reprinted. Â Another author who was shocked by the high amounts second hand copies of the out of print books were being offered and sold for. Well done Bridget. The original email spawned several emails with the message that it can be difficult to trace self-publishers. The publishing world is very different from the one Bridget and I started in. Now it is possible to do all the work and a printer will print them one book at a time. However, this method is more expensive per book and the profit margin too small to allow for the discount suppliers would require. Would it be possible for lace organisations keep lists where books may be sourced? I am happy to supply details of mine. I always send out review copies that are kept by the societies. It would be nice to know that they would keep my details on file and pass them on when requested. Perhaps they could be encouraged to compile lists by their members requesting information.
