It appears in some Italian and Spanish lacesl, and some Torchon, usually peasant-style laces, not high fashion. It's an uncommon mesh, seen occasionally in 18th century Italian and some Spanish laces. Usually a relatively coarse mesh used in household laces. Since it's not high fashion, it's hard to date.
