Hi Sharon and Spiders,

It can be fraught with horrors when one volunteers to finish something!     One
of my best friends passed away two years ago, on Boxing Day, and I volunteered
to complete a half-finished mat on her pillow, for her mother.   Well - she had
been ill for a couple of years, so the lace hadn't been touched for about three
years - the thread had degraded somewhat, the pins had completely welded
themselves into the pillow, and it was all a disaster.   In the end, I have
decided to make a UFO with the tea-light for her Mum, using the colours chosen
for the mat, and let her Mum have that instead of the mangled remains of the
mat.   So - I hope she is happy with that, as I do want desperately to do
something to remember my friend, and please her parents.

Subject: [lace] problem with picots

I recently (foolishly) volunteered to finish a Beds edging for a local woman.
