>From the Barbara Fay web site: The 30th anniversary of our company on February 1st has unfortunately been overshadowed by the death of the company's founder Barbara Fay on February 7th. Although Barbara has suffered for several years from an incurable disorder of the nervous system, her passing away was quite unexpected. Please refrain from condolence phone calls.
--------------------------------------------------------------- This morning I chose to look on barbara-fay.de for a book they published by Christine Mirecki. Those of us who buy books from this lace book publisher/dealer know that Barbara has been very ill for several years. Since the on-set of her illness, we have been greeted in the sales rooms at OIDFA Congresses or on the phone by her husband, Rolf and daughter, Dagmar. (All are fluent in English.) The very nice thing about this publishing business in Germany is that they pursue European authors and ask them to write books. Then, the books are published in multiple languages - including English. Because of the request to refrain from condolence phone calls in the announcement, the next time you meet Rolf and/or Dagmar, please thank them from the international English-speaking lace community - for all that Barbara's insight contributed to our knowledge, because she founded a company that included us. Rolf has told me (in person) that they read our Arachne posts, so I send this message in the hope he will read how much we appreciate Barbara's life. Kindest thoughts of sympathy to her family.
