Thank you Ruth, Jean L, Lyn & Jean R--your advice got me over the hump & the 
result is so pleasing!  Jean, I printed out your step-by-step instructions & 
tucked them into Practical Skills.  The lightbulb went on when I followed your 
directions.  These is my first two pieces of Schneeberger so several learning 
curves were in play.  Number two is not perfect but much improved.  Apparently 
something must have sunk in over time, even if it wasn't the picots!  I quit 
making them more than five years ago because they were so vexing.  Now if I 
could just tame those perfidious tallies!  LOL.  Thanks again to Gon Homburg & 
her friends for posting the pricking & working notes.  Just love this adorable 
scalloped edging--reminds me of a bridge near Savannah.  Or a Christmas tree
