Having learnt my lace in the mid 70's, I've not known a different way other than 5T pin 2T (maybe 7T pin 2T for uber fine thread), so learning some 'new' things is great. I'll have to go try some variations when I get my current WIP's completed, and go 'play' and see what I discover.
I recently completed a sample of an old parchment in the CH parchment tracings book, and it had a most unique headside that had very deep valleys, so I tried 3 different ways to get a decent looking headside trail.
