I concur, Alex, long may Arachne continue. Some days there are very few messages, but when real information is available, or help needed, we're all here ready to respond.
My latest "discovery" involves a large half stitch fan in a pattern in Ulrike Voelker's "Master Torchon". It is supposed to be a French fan, with the workers looping around a final passive pair, but this doesn't work well for me, it's never a smooth inner curve. So for the final stitch at the pivot point, I've used the "turning stitch" of CTTCT (the final twist because it's half stitch), and pin back both pairs. Each time I get to the inner pivot point, I use the same pin, just taking it out and replacing it. It has worked beautifully, I now have a half stitch fan with a lovely smooth inner curve.
