I usually don't contribute to the forum as I am just absorbing everything,
being a relative 'newby' on the lace scene, but as an avid book collector and
bookworm, and not very partial to the smell of cigarettes in my house, this is
a subject I do know quite a bit about. Especially the solution - I love herbs,
the perfect antidote:-)I would suggest doing what people did to keep books and
scrolls protected over the ages...
They used 'strewing herbs' -Â yes, it wasn't just used to walk over - in the
backs of the bookshelves that not only chased away moths and other
troublemakers, but it also provided a lovely fragrance to the books.And best
of all, it provides an excuse to make some more lace - not to mention lovely
special gifts... :-)Â How about little 'strewing bags' to protect your
valuable book collections? Drop them in at the back of the shelf, or scatter
them on top, hang them anywhere...The best known being lavender, but there is
ample information available on the subject. I love Lemon Verbena too, and
there is Rosemary... LOTS to choose from:-)
