Indeed, as Sue M. wrote, it is very much due to venue availability! Especially the dates for our 2015 convention. If you recall only 2 years ago in Salt Lake City there was NO group planning for 2015. We initially thought to hold the convention at a newly opened facility with a wide open schedule for 2015, but that venue didn't work out and we found the Marriott in Coralville, which I hope everyone will love. But with only 1.5 years away we were lucky to get ANY week in the summer! Our only alternative was NEXT WEEK, which in the US immediately follows a MAJOR holiday. We didn't think that would be acceptable and apparently would have completely overlapped your lace days.
