There may be lacemakers introducing young people to lace making this
Summer. May I suggest you look at The Lace Guild's web site?
_www.laceguild.org_ (http://www.laceguild.org)

Select 'Young Lacemakers" from the blue band at the top.

There are several patterns with instructions to show to a young person.
It will be easiest for you if they can see something that you will be able
to provide to them immediately, when interest is expressed. The elephant is
very cute, but maybe a bit advanced for a beginner. A small child might
love a bracelet, and you can make that easy or challenging.

For those who have not ventured into the use of beads, you might find the
instructions given to Young Lacemakers very easy to follow. Please make
sure you emphasize safety when it comes to using and storing the crochet hook.

Thank you to the volunteer members of The Lace Guild who have made this
information available in an easy-to-use format.

Does anyone know of a beginner puppy/dog pattern?
My 7 year old just finished her first piece of lace and is very excited.
She asked for a puppy to be her next pattern and I want to keep the
momentum going.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you, Dagmar
