Liz Pass is quite right - I updated the Lace Guild website last week and added
the new Lace Guild membership bobbins for 2015-16 (the bobbins for 2014-15 are
sold out except for a few Poppy continentals). If you can’t see the new bobbins
you need to refresh your browser (or empty the cache if that doesn’t work).

The new bobbins are lovely smooth wood and while they are more expensive than
last year don’t forget that the price that you see on the website includes
postage.

I also added the 2016 Calendar - Rubies are red… I haven’t seen it yet myself
but hope to be able to add some information about the contents soon.

Next on my list for the Sales Page are the 2015 Christmas bobbins - there will
be a bone and a wooden bobbin for ‘Seven Swans A-swimming” for those of you
collecting the 12 Days of Christmas, and also painted bobbins with a Christmas
wreath in Midlands, Honiton and Continental styles.

The elephant on the Young Lacemakers page
(https://www.laceguild.org/ylm/elephant.html) can be made as a simple outline
for beginners - scroll to the bottom of the page to see this. A good way of
providing something for a young lacemaker beginner is to take a simple outline
and work it with 4 or 5 pairs in cloth stitch - the elephant outline can be
downloaded from the page as a PDF file or the young lacemaker could draw her
own shape.
