Hello All! Thank you Sof for the recap on resources. While there are similarities to Irish crochet, the motifs are distinctly different & the technique seems to require a different hand movement. A friend found a funky video at quel beau pays.avi that shows the lace & how coiffes are applied over the hair. It turns out, there is a stiffened support under the lace "tube". In addition to the coiffes, there are smaller caps & some men were wearing crocheted lace vests that use the same motifs. This is the first I've heard that men wear the lace!
