I'm very privileged to own a Queyras "tambour' made and carved in
traditional Cembra pine by a friend, who used Claire le Goaziou's beautiful
book. With two friends who also have tambours made by Alain we have
decided to work Queyras lace on our traditional tambours at the Upaix Lace
Day in August. If any of you lovely people out there are in the Hautes
Alpes on 13th, 14th August, drop in and say hello!

Apart from Claire's book, in which there are seven lace prickings, Michelle
Andreu has produced 'Dentelle des Alpes' and Françoise Monneret has several
books on Alpine laces, which differ from valley to valley.

Sue from Montélimar, where a nippy Mistral is blowing dosn the Rhone
valley;..
