It seems to be my luck to be posting embroidery stories. Splashed over the papers is the identification of an alar cloth in a small church in Herefordshire as a piece of a dress from Elizabeth 1st. It is being conserved by BRP: and there is a lovely short film on youtube.

On a Lace note Lynne & I were demonstrating at the Baldock street fair this Saturday, rather cold but lots of visitors. And for the first time instead of the usual "I wouldn't have the patience" (to which the reply is "housework takes patience not this"), were a few "it must be very relaxing". Which it is. And I finished my big Barbara Underwood mat, which has been on the pillow since oct 2104. I'll post pictures when I get a chance.
