Hello Nancy and everyone If you have Practical Skills in Bobbin Lace by B. Cook, refer to item 18 in Section 1, Starts and Edges, "Starting a straight piece of work with a footside at the top as well as the edges..." and modify it to accommodate the pattern's headside.
