Hello Susan, Yes, the ploychrome laces are amazing! Unfortunately actual production for fashion on Pellestrina has ceased... there is some small-scale production on Burano for the bridal market, however, unlike Venice's velvet weavers, the lace makers have not been able to maintain an active relationship with the fashion world. The curious thing is that the skill and time required to make lace is no greater than that to weave velvet by hand (there are still 5 companies in Italy who do that). However, beyond technical skill there needs to be a relationship between designers, makers and industry to allow these crafts to survive. If you are interested I have a post about a Venetian velvet weaving workshop here: http://www.textilesupport.net/single-post/2016/07/15/Tradition-Fashion-in-Venice

The shading reminds me of Sandi Woods Milanese class! Does the fashion industry in Italy source their lace from Pellistrina? I could see that on a coat or dress in a heartbeat.
