This is the system IOLI had before it was changed to the current one over 10 years ago. The problems with a single renewal date are (A) having to estimate how many extra magazines to have printed to allow for new members joining during the year, (B) finding somewhere to store all these extra magazines, (C) the extra postage costs for sending out additional magazines (not something you can pass on to a new member).
