Hello All! With profound thanks to Janet Theaker, I was able to make a star with linen & metallic threads. She made some suggestions & set me straight so "A Star Is Born"! It's posted to Flickr, very pretty in spite of some technical issues, & I'm so sorry I don't know the issue of Lace Express. Good thing I kept my "Jean Leader notes" on making picots! When I didn't have the metallic 12, I searched my stash & found the Finca. It is put up in skeins & I bought mine at a friend's embroidery shop. Just wanted to report that it was very nice to work with & I give it high marks for being forgiving thru all my retro-lacing! It wasn't made twice, but for awhile it seemed like I was going back more than I was going forward. With the ornament exchange deadline looming, I am encouraged to try similar patterns & add some bling to the star/snowflake shapes. Thanks again Janet! Sincerely, Susan Hottle USA
