Actually, these might have belonged to a Plains Indian. During the mid-1800s (when our government was moving the Indians to reservations, there was a movement to teach the Indian women bobbin lace, in order for them to have a trade and make some money. However, this does not make these bobbins worth that much (just my opinion). Neither bobbin was particularly special.. bog standard bone Beds. One had some carving and the other a rather badly executed coloured decoration consisting of both "tigers" (stripes) and "leopards" (spots) ... unusual to find both on the same bobbin. They definitely weren't anything to do with Plains Indians ... ever. The rest of the web-site was given over to lot loads of rusty hammers, rolling pins, old flour sacks etc.. It is alarming to think that there just may be some gullible person out there who would fall for this sort of ignorance or dishonesty, wish something could be done about it.
